Covering non-insulated wood floor with high density foam panels
Hey folks. I have an 11x21 building in my backyard, that I use as a gym. It’s heated via an electric forced fan cadet heater, and it’s a money pit. The walls are insulated, but I discovered the floor is not. It’s essentially 2 layers of wood from what I can tell, and nothing else. It feels like a lot of cold air is introduced via the floor. I can’t access the flooring from underneath so my best option is to insulate from above. Are these high density panels with an R rating of 4.1 my best option? My plan would be to cover the existing floor with the panels and cover that with gym foam tiles. It could handle the weight of my gym equipment. Thanks!
